With over 20 years of experience in the commercial furniture industry, I take pride in delivering exceptional service to clients both regionally and nationwide. My passion for growing Tri-State Office Furniture has created more local jobs and strengthened our community impact.

Tri-State Office Furniture specializes in new, pre-owned, and refurbished office furniture, offering comprehensive services such as liquidation, design and layout, project management, delivery, and installation. As one of the fastest-growing office furniture companies, we have warehouse showrooms in Pittsburgh, PA, Charleston, WV, and Buffalo, NY.

I am deeply committed to supporting Pittsburgh and its surrounding neighborhoods, actively participating in various nonprofit organizations. I proudly served on the Board of Directors for The Bradley Center from 2016 to 2024 and currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh, a role I began in 2023. I have also been a member of the Pittsburgh Business Times Leadership Trust since 2020.

In 2018, Tri-State Office Furniture partnered with Pittsburgh Magazine as the first commercial furniture participant in The Ultimate House Pittsburgh, benefiting The Free Care Fund at Children's Hospital Pittsburgh. Since then, our company has worked with numerous nonprofit organizations, continuing our ongoing commitment to giving back to the community.

The Billy & Bob Story

Our executive committee, made up of 5 department heads, selected two employees for January’s Employee of the month award.  The selection criteria is based on 10 categories.  It is a process that normally is not easy.  We truly have great people here at Tri-State, but Bob Sohngen & Bill Toskey Jr made this month’s decision easy.  Bob & Bill (pictured) each received an Employee of the Month Certificate plus a $500 bonus.  Not only are they incredible human beings they are two of the best office furniture installers in the Tri-State area, & they can now add hero to their resumes.

On January 19th 2021 Bob, Bill & a co-worker (whose name cannot be mentioned due to HIPAA laws) had a life altering experience while working at an office furniture installation in Bradford PA.  The co-worker went into cardiac arrest, and without hesitation both Bob and Bill went into action.  Bob put the man on his side as he cleared his passageway while Bill removed the seat cushion and two moving blankets from the truck.  They put the man on his back, propped his head up, and covered him with blankets as they began compressions.  Within 5 minutes from starting compressions the paramedics arrived at the scene.   The 40-year plus veteran of the office furniture industry, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend was off to the hospital.  Both the doctors and nurses said without Bob & Bill’s quick thinking & rush to action the man may have not survived.  He is now home resting with his family.
